Popularly known in Singapore as an enclave for the rich and wealthy, District 10 features some of Singapore’s most luxurious private properties, from uber-expensive celebrity penthouses to sprawling bungalows with private pools, tennis courts, and more.
Situated in the central region of Singapore, District 10 includes:

Nature and Sports Centres
Looking for an upscale district close to nature? Look no further. District 10 offers what no other affluent neighbourhoods in Singapore can beat – convenient access to not one but three of Singapore’s most popular nature hotspots.
The Bukit Timah Nature Reserve offers challenging treks up its 163-metre-high slopes through its forested surroundings or biking trails for a more relaxed way to enjoy nature.
Right next door, there’s the Central Catchment Reserve (the largest in Singapore), which occupies up to 2880 hectares of forest, with plenty of walking trails, and exciting treetop walks to explore the biodiversity hidden within.
If that’s not enough, there’s the Singapore Botanic Gardens (a UNESCO heritage site) which features some of the best flora and fauna that the region has to offer in a beautifully curated environment.
For fitness enthusiasts, there’s a wide variety of sports and fitness centres in the vicinity to cater to every interest. From tennis academies, cricket sports clubs, horseback riding, golfing, and swimming to soccer, there’s something for everyone.
Heritage Attractions
Interestingly, District 10 is home to some unexpected and unassuming landmarks that have a fascinating history behind them.
Some examples of important heritage landmarks in the district include the shophouses of Chip Bee Gardens which used to be a military base, the Ying Fo Fui Kun cemetery, which is Singapore’s last Hakka cemetery, Istana Woodneuk an abandoned palace near the Botanic Gardens, and Bukit Timah Hill, the site of a historic battle during World War II, among many others.
Schools, Libraries, and Other Public Facilities
Home to a considerable number of Singapore’s leading education institutions, District 10 is often popular amongst Singaporean families with children.
Some of these top institutions include Raffles Girls’ Primary Schools, Singapore Chinese Girls’ School, St Joseph’s Institution, Nanyang Girls’ High School, Hwa Chong Institution, Anglo-Chinese School, and National Junior College.
For expatriate families, there are also schools like the Australian International School, United World College, and Stamford American International School to choose from.
The nearest public libraries are found in neighbouring districts, like the Queenstown public library or library@orchard.
Food & Beverages (F&B) and Retail Options
While there are no mega malls within these private enclaves, each district has its unique hotspots for dining and retail options.
Holland Village for one, has its stretch of hipster cafes, bars, casual restaurants, and specialty shops concentrated along the main street.
Bukit Timah has its small malls, like Bukit Timah Plaza, KAP Mall, and the stretch of restaurants and specialty shops along Sixth Avenue for all their needs.
Tanglin not only has easy access to the Orchard shopping belt but is also home to Dempsey Hill, one of Singapore’s hottest dining and lifestyle destinations.
Accessible Private Enclaves
With significant upgrades (both completed and upcoming) in the MRT lines, these previously inaccessible neighbourhoods now have more options for residents to get around. The Downtown line services the entire Bukit Timah stretch, while Holland Village is easily accessible via the Buona Vista, and Holland Village Station.
