Located at the fringe of Singapore’s prime districts 9 and 10, District 11 has increasingly developed into an extension of these exclusive districts to incorporate more luxury private residences to appeal to the same high-end crowd – but with its unique charm.
Situated in the central region of Singapore, District 11 includes:
- Newton: Home to the popular Newton Food Centre, a popular tourist and local attraction for delectable Singaporean fare and located at the edge of the popular Orchard shopping belt, its convenience to town makes for an attractive neighbourhood.

Some important landmarks in the district include the Church of St. Alphonsus, a beautiful and charming church next to the station, the Sun Yat Sen Nanyang Memorial Hall, the Sasanaransi Buddhist Temple one of the oldest temples in Singapore, Kuan Im Tng Temple, the Police Heritage Centre, the Lam Yeo Coffee Powder Factory, and many more.

Although there aren’t any public schools within this district, some of Singapore’s top educational institutions are just a hop, skip, and a throw away in the neighbouring District 10.
These top institutions include Singapore Chinese Girls’ School, St Joseph’s Institution, Anglo-Chinese School (Barker Road), and Catholic Junior College. For working families with younger children, the district is full of childcare and student care centres to choose from.
The nearest public libraries are found in neighbouring districts, like the Toa Payoh Public Library.

With four shopping malls within a stone’s throw of each other in Novena, Newton bordering the ever-popular Orchard shopping district, and being next door to foodie haven Balestier, residents of district 11 have all their needs covered.
